About The Jump
Once you make that jump, your feeling should match one of these two or somewhere in between, depending a lot on the kind of person you are.
Afraid of heights
The heart pumped to the mouth, the brain suddenly moving in all directions, the body helplessly and rapidly falling to the gorge below, not confident that the cord tied to the back as well as the feet holds on; a weird feeling in the gut, unable to open those eyes; mouth wide open with failed attempts to scream; death seems to have closed in after all.
Not afraid of heights
Trying a backflip for that extra adrenaline, eyes wide open and hair pulled back a little due largely to the gush of air generated by the speed of the fall, arms wide open and legs stretched as if the intent is to feel like a bird, smiling and thinking about how to enjoy the bounce backs now that the first should happen any moment
Trip Overview
Nepal’s first bungee jumping site is situated 160m over the wild Bhote Kosi river and located close to the Nepal-Tibet border, a three-hour bus ride from Kathmandu. As can be arranged on arrival in Kathmandu. As of now, there is only one agency offering this sport. The jump, at 160m, was designed by one of New Zealand’s leading bungee consultants and is operated by some of the most experienced jump masters in the business. It’s mishap-proof. The agency takes safety “very very seriously”.
